We took Allyssa to South Padre Island to see a member of our church who had some art in the Beachcombers Art Show and to see the ocean. She didn't open her eyes to see the ocean, but we had a great time walking along the beach and picking out pretty shells for her.

Allyssa and her toy
Grandma sent Allyssa a couple of new toys. She loves the teether. She likes to try to grab it. She got it a couple of times and pulled it to her, but, of course, never for the camera. Enjoy her playing with them!

Tracking skills and 4th of July
Allyssa loves a round toy that goes on her play mat. She'll follow it with her eyes until she can't see it anymore, then, she'll move her head all the way over! Yay Allyssa! She also loved the fireworks that some neighbor boys were popping in the church parking lot. We went outside to watch them. She loved to see the bright colors in the sky. She stared and stared. She didn't even mind the noise! Just wait until next year; I bet the noise bothers her then!!

Allyssa tries to turn over
Allyssa can turn the bottom 2/3 of her body over from her stomach to her back! I don't know how soon babies can do that, so it might not be amazing to anyone else, but it is great to me! She gets stuck on her head. She just can't get it to flip over her one arm. We'll have to teach her to get a good, fast start on it! Momentum! That's the key! (Or she could just get bigger and stronger, but wouldn't it be cute to see a 5 pound baby turn over?!)
