Nap time

Allyssa has always fallen asleep wherever she wanted when she was tired. Until now. She quit falling asleep which led to a very cranky baby. Silly girl. So, now there is nap time. She woke, got dressed for the day, ate, played, listened to a story, ate, got a diaper change, and took a nap - for about half an hour. Then, she was hungry. She ate, but didn't seem sleepy anymore. Why? She still wanted to dirty a diaper, and herself, and me. After we both changed clothes and got cleaned up, she fell asleep while I held her. I put her in her bouncy chair, where she promptly woke and began to play. Maybe tomorrow.

YAY! I'm 12 weeks old!

August 26th

As big as Daddy

These pictures were taken Aug. 17th. Allyssa weighed 9 lbs 4 oz which means she was as big as her Daddy was on his birth day. Now Allyssa is at least 9 and a half pounds, I think it was yesterday when I weighed her last. Allyssa and I had plans to evacuate for Hurricane Dean. We don't have to anymore.

Allyssa's first trip out of the Valley

David, Allyssa, and I went to Camp Lone Start early this week for a new workers' retreat. We had a great time. Allyssa was the youngest baby there. She was very good. She didn't cry a lot, and one night she only woke up one time. That was the first time that has happend. These pictures are from the trip home. They are of David and Allyssa at the bay at Corpus Christi and of Allyssa in her car seat. There is also a picture of a ship that we saw while we were crossing over from the mainland to Mustang Island.

Our Big Girl!

Our 9 pound baby is wearing 0-3 month clothes now. See her cute onesie and her fun shorts? This morning Allyssa said "ba."

Allyssa is growing

Allyssa now has grown out of two of her newborn size onesies. They are the ones that snap at the neck instead of having the bigger hole. They don't go on over her head anymore. Wish I would have known that before 5 am this morning!

2 month check up

Allyssa had her 2 month check up today. She is 8 lbs. 13 oz. and 19 1/2 inches long. She had 5 shots and 1 oral vaccination. You can see her bandaids in the photos.
