picking up toys

We've been teaching Allyssa to pick up her toys at bedtime for the past couple of weeks (except a few days while we had visitors over Christmas). It has really worked well. The first time we tried it, Allyssa cried and refused to help. It was the first time, so it didn't bother us. After that the crying slowly became less and less, but she was mainly an observer. Then one day, she helped by putting her milk away. Perfect. The next day, she put a book and her milk away. She puts about 4 items away each night now before bed. For a 1 1/2 year old, I say that that is just fine. I'm pleased!
